The West Geauga High School Girls basketball team picked up a 49-26 road win over Orange in the CVC opener on Friday night. The Wolverines and Lions traded baskets in the opening quarter before ending the period tied 10-10. West G exploded on the offensive side in the second quarter as they went on a 21-2 run. Through the second and third period, the Wolverines outscored Orange 35-5. West Geauga outrebounded Orange 52-36 and forced 49 turnovers. The Wolverines were paced by Faelynn Beckrest who finished with 15 points while pulling down eight rebounds and grabbing 10 steals. Rachel Mason added 11 points while Emersyn Semplak chipped in six points in the victory. West Geauga will host Lutheran West in another CVC match-up on Tuesday. JV tips at 5:30 followed by Varsity.
