Photos: https://westgathletics.com/Gallery/142172 The West Geauga Girls Soccer team went on the road to open the 2026 season and brought back a 3-2 victory of NDCL on Friday night. The Wolverines opened the scoring when Faelynn Beckrest connected with a pass to Brooklyn Osolin who finished her first goal of the season to make it 1-0 at the 8:25 mark of the first half. Beckrest scored her first goal of the year in the 20th minute on an assist from Ava Borz to make it 2-0. NDCL got on the board late in the first half to cut the deficit to 2-1 before Lexi Bryan scored the Wolverines third goal of the half in the final two minutes. The Lions would add a goal in the second half to close within 3-2. West Geauga outshot NDCL 11-7 in the game and goalkeeper Morgan Demaske made five saves. The JV squad tied NDCL 1-1 in their season opener. The Wolverines will travel to Kirtland on Tuesday to take on the Hornets.
